Location: Arenal Volcano National Park, Costa Rica
Go: I thought the first Go and Do Good® hotel that we visited was Sol y Luna in Peru, but it turns out that our first Trek without Kids in 2017 was to a generous hotel after all! (Maybe God was preparing us for this future journey!).
I was stunned to discover that the beautiful, lush, wonderful resort of Nayara Springs (and sister hotel) gave back generously to others and so I can share both personal facts about these Costa Rica hotels and now how they’re doing so much good in their local community.
Say “hello” to Nayara Gardens, a lush paradise inside Arenal Volcano National Park, which is a family-friendly, luxurious way to experience Costa Rica. Enjoy their state-of-the-art facilities, including remarkable restaurants, a pool bar and my personal favorite, a wine and tapas bar. Their free-standing casitas offer authentic Costa Rican flair, open air spaces to lounge and delightful outdoor rain showers in a private garden.
Their sister resort, Nayara Springs, is an adult-only option offering the same gorgeous features as Nayara Gardens. A cluster of secluded luxury villas are immersed in the lush vegetation of Costa Rica’s rainforest providing the utmost amount of privacy. In addition to the same wonderful dining options as their sister site, Nayara Springs offers spa and yoga treatments as well as two oversized infinity edge pools that merge into the forest. Look for toucans and sloths on property and immerse yourself in the “Pura Vida” Costa Rican way.
An additional sister resort is Nayara Tented Camp, a family-friendly glamping experience Arenal Volcano National Park. Enjoy a clifftop tent with the vibrant rainforest below, providing a place of nature with unending adventure and relaxation. Spot amazing birds, visit the sloth sanctuary and choose an adventure that gets the whole family back to nature. Enjoy luxury tents, complimentary daily breakfast and a plunge in the tent’s deck pool.
And Do Good: Besides just being beautiful properties, Nayara Resorts makes a difference in their local community, too. Since 2009, Nayara Resorts support the community of La Fortuna de San Carlos in cultural, athletic, recreational and conservation activities. Their staff volunteers and financially supports Hogarcito de Niño, a home for abused and orphaned children.
When Nayara Resorts was seeking out a way to help the community in need, they discovered children living in a local orphanage. Since then, supporting Hogarcito de Niño has been the main focus of their giving and supporting plans for community development.
Nayara Resorts, since forming this local partnership, has seen amazing results and the smiles on the local children’ faces say it all. Guests of both Nayara Gardens and Nayara Springs are informed about the work being done with the orphanage. Some guests, such as a woman named Anita, visits the hotel every year to make a donation to the orphanage.
