And Do Good: During their recent closure, the team at The Venetian and Las Vegas Sands worked behind the scenes to help jump-start community efforts for those affected by COVID-19 pandemic. In May, they created 17,000 boxed meals to assist when a local homeless relief organization had to close their kitchen during the crisis. The kits included daily “messages of LOVE” from their Team Members and past guests.
In April, they contributed to 20,000 “Direct Care to Kids” supply kits with critical soap for local families most in need during the crisis. As the community was dealing with a critical shortage of PPE in March, Las Vegas Sands donated more than two million surgical masks and 20,000 protective suits to healthcare professionals and first responders.
The Venetian donated thousands of pounds of food, or the equivalent to 56,723 meals, to Three Square food bank. In addition, they provided local non-profits with 55,000 bottles of water, 150 cases of dry food, and even nearly 6,000 rolls of toilet paper.
They have since announced a new, innovative recycling program to keep face makes out of local landfills.
