And Do Good: The Sandals Foundation is a non-profit organization launched in March 2009 to help Sandals Resorts International continue to make a difference in the Caribbean. All costs associated with administration and management is supported by Sandals International so that 100% of every dollar donated goes directly towards funding impactful and meaningful initiatives within the key areas of Education, Community and Environment.
Sandals Foundation invites guests to give back while on vacation, whether it be through a financial donation, providing needed supplies through Pack for a Purpose™or by choosing a community route tour in partnership with Island Routes Caribbean Adventures.
From taking a Reading Road Trip, a volunteer literacy enhancement program aimed at improving listening, reading and comprehension skills of children ages 3-6 years to supporting the Ocean Connect program, a new program supporting teaching life-saving water skills to Caribbean children, travelers can choose from an assortment of programs that give back. Full-time high school students can also participate in Island Impact and earn community service hours for their volunteer time.
Turtle Release: Available in Ocho Rios from June through December, this tour gives guests an opportunity to witness the hatchlings of endangered sea turtles emerge from their nests and start their journey into the open sea. Guests get a chance to speak with local researchers and enjoy a rare, hands-on experience with sea turtles in their natural habitat. Proceeds from this tour benefit turtle conservation efforts in the Caribbean.
