Perched between the ancient rainforest and the sea, its location offers unparalleled access to the true nature of Vancouver Island’s west coast. The Wickaninnish Inn is a vision come to life. Alongside the lively wonderscape outside, their offerings are presented with genuine care and consideration, giving you the time to share special moments and create timeless memories.
Set on a rocky edge at the northern cape of Chesterman Beach, The Wickaninnish Inn is an aspirational destination. A few minutes south of Tofino on the Esowista Peninsula, the Inn is central to exploring the rugged wilderness of Pacific Rim National Park and Clayoquot Sound.
The Inn’s two neighbouring buildings house all of our accommodations and services just steps from the beach. Their architecture has helped define the archetypal North West Coast style, one which utilizes natural elements of local cedar, fir, driftwood and stone in its design. With windows opening towards the surrounding landscape and seascape, guests are immersed in the beauty of our incredible surroundings from every room. Sculptures and artwork from local artisans feature prominently throughout the Inn and create the essence of its unique character.
The guest rooms and suites encapsulate rustic elegance on nature’s edge. Each room at The Wickaninnish Inn found between two buildings – the Pointe Building and Beach Building – is designed to charm with its attention to detail and connection with nature. Set atop a rocky outcropping, our Pointe Building houses 42 Deluxe rooms and three Premier rooms as well as The Pointe Restaurant and Ancient Cedars Spa. Surrounded by ancient forest and facing Chesterman Beach, the Beach Building offers a variety of 18 deluxe rooms and 12 suites as well as the Lookout Library, Fitness Room, Driftwood Café and Henry Nolla Gallery.
Made from seasonal harvests and ingredients provided from local and sustainable sources, the Inn’s food is fresh, flavourful and inspired. From extreme to extremely laid back, there are also activities at The Wickaninnish Inn for everyone during any season, simply bring your curiosity and sense of adventure.
And Do Good: In addition to being a Green hotel, The Wickaninnish Inn is a Soap For Hope Canada hotel partner which helps repurpose unused soaps, shampoos, conditioners and linen while helping improve the quality of life for vulnerable local communities and around the world.
Starting in 2008, the Inn led their first Earth Day clean-up of their popular corridor. Their annual golf tournament has raised over $120,000 for the local high school’s athletics programs, and they contribute funds and time to operate various not-for-profit festivals in Tofino. Their Surfrider Sessions Gala Dinners held in March helped raise over $60,000 for our local Pacific Rim Surfrider Foundation since 2018.
Clayoquot Sound was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations in 2000. This essentially means that the area—spanning 864,734 acres and including Tofino and its beaches—is viewed as a living laboratory for people and nature where an exchange of ideas about conservation and sustainability is practiced and encouraged.
