Christmas in Málaga

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially this year as we call the Málaga province home: we got to see the Málaga Calle Larios Christmas lights! This famous light show in Spain is a marvelous site and one that I absolutely agree it worth experiencing. The 2025 theme was the Belen so a nativity scene lit up the street of Calle Larios in centro Málaga. Since we only live one hour away by car in Estepona this year, we decided to hop in the car on a Saturday evening to try to catch the 8:30pm show.

Cons: it was super crowded – like huge crowds of people and all you can see are heads like in Sol, Madrid. We didn’t expect there to be that many people there, even though it’s a very popular event in Spain.

Pros: it was absolutely worth attending, if you can recover from the busyness. We were able to secure a close enough spot to enjoy the 10-minute light show and enjoyed a nice meal at Los Melizzos, a local seafood chain, after the show.

Absolutely do not miss Màlaga for Christmas. Next up: Semana Santa in Málaga ciudad!
