My Sister’s First Visit to Madrid

What a time we had this week with my sister and brother-in-law visiting Madrid for the first time! This was her first time in Spain and one for the books: we had the best time! Copy our itinerary as I share what we did for their first visit together to Madrid:

Monday

When they first arrived, we loved picking them up at T4 in the Madrid Barajas airport. Landon had created a sign and we were thrilled to see them. We then had a quiet night in, making them a traditional Spanish dinner to try dishes like albondigas and patatas bravas.

Tuesday

We then spent the next day in Madrid doing all of our favorites: taking the Renfe into Madrid, having lunch at Flavia for Italian, walking around Recoletos and Retiro Park into Puerta Alcala. We then walked around Sol and Gran Via before seeing a flamenco show at Teatro Flamenco Madrid.

Wednesday

We then took a day trip to Toledo to show my brother-in-law and sister a local city near Madrid. They absolutely loved this and it was their favorite day! Even though it was hot in late July here, the streets of Toledo were covered and very enjoyable. There we also got to try churros together for the first time.

Thursday

We spent our second day in Madrid after showing our local school and having a breakfast around town. The adults then headed on the Tapas, Taverns and History Tour where we enjoyed a slow bar crawl. My sister and I bought matching Uno de 50 bracelets which we will cherish forever. We also walked around Plaza Mayor which was one of their favorite stops. We absolutely loved this together so much! We also ended the night at Logan’s favorite bar, Ferreteria.

Friday

On their last day, we spent the day seeing and visiting the Bernabeu stadium and gift shop.

It was the sweetest trip and we loved showing them our lives here in Spain.
